Work you’ll do
- Lead and manage the SOC team: Oversee the work of analysts, engineers, and other security professionals within the SOC.
- Develop and implement SOC policies and procedures: Establish and maintain effective processes for threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and other security operations.
- Manage security tools and technologies: Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of SOC tools, such as SIEM, EDR, NDR, SOAR, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Analyze security events and logs: Review and analyze security data to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Investigate security incidents: Lead the investigation of security incidents, determine their root cause, and implement appropriate remediation measures.
- Coordinate incident response: Manage the incident response process, including communication with stakeholders, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Prepare security reports and metrics: Track and report on key security metrics, such as the number of incidents, detection and response times, and overall security posture.
- Stay current with cybersecurity trends: Keep up-to-date on the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
- Oversee security awareness and training: Develop and implement security awareness and training programs for employees.
- Collaborate with other security teams: Work closely with other security teams, such as threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident response, to ensure a coordinated security approach.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a security operations role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Experience working in a 24x7 SOC environment.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
- Working knowledge of network security, endpoint security, and cloud security.
- Expertise in security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, EDR, NDR, SOAR, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and frameworks, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001.
- Experience with log analysis and incident response methodologies.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data and identify patterns and anomalies.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Leadership Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team of security professionals.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear and concise reports and updates.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Additional Requirements:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CySA+, OSCP, or GIAC certifications (GCIH, GCFE) are highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work on-call and respond to security incidents outside of normal business hours.
- Experience in the banking or tech industry as SOC L1-3.
- Experience in threat hunting, threat analysis, cyber incident investigation, cyber first responder, cyber forensics, malware analysis
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation.
